My Dodge PCM Broke and I Ended Up Stranded In The Everglades

When the PCM on my trusty, rusty Dodge broke, I was left stranded, waste deep in the muck of the Everglades, surrounded by gators and snakes. Here’s how it happened.

Last year, I won a seven night trip to Miami, FL. It included a beautiful suite at a luxurious hotel, and $10,000 on a debit card that I had to spend during the trip. I took my best friend with me. His name is Justin and he was a DJ at the time. He always wanted to check out the clubs in Miami, so I almost felt like I had to take him. Throughout our friendship, he’s always came through for me in the most random of moments. That’s why I’ve always kept him close.

So, it was our last night in Miami, and we had hardly made a dent in the $10,000 that we had to spend. I thought I was about to have one of the greatest nights of my life, going crazy spending all of that money. Instead, things went a slightly different way. It all started when Justin and I were driving in my Dodge truck, about to have dinner at a place that was recommended to us by locals. It was in the middle of nowhere, but we were destined to try their famous alligator tail.

We had been driving for over an hour into the swamp, and we decided it would be best to stop and ask for directions. Justin went into a gas station store, and I stood by my truck as an attendant pumped it full of gas. He kept asking me questions about the year of my Dodge, and other strange questions. He said that a Dodge PCM just recently broke down in a truck that was the same year and model as mine. He said it was a common problem and that I should let him check it out before we drove off into the swamps. However, I personally felt that I couldn’t take advice from somebody with one tooth.

When Justin got back to the car he let me know that he just got directions to the restaurant. However, the worried look on his face told me that he was a little uncertain about some of the details. I looked down at the debit card that had all the money on it. At that point, I just wanted to get something quick to eat and get back to the city for a night of fun. Instead, the truck broke down due to a bad PCM on a muddy road in the swampy Everglades.

Justin and I had both gotten to our boiling points, and we began to argue. During the argument, I stupidly threw the debit card out the window, and into the river of grass. I had a receipt in my pocket that had a number on it to call if I lost the card during the trip. However, I didn’t think of this, and I dove into the muddy waters searching for the card. I didn’t find the card, and I lost my clothes in the process. Of course, this included the receipt that was in my pocket as well.

As I walked back to the truck wearing nothing but my shorts, I realized that I was going to have to explain to Justin that I lost all the money. However, before I made it to the door, I found myself looking into the eyes of a 15 foot python. I was angry, tired, and simply fed up at this point. I didn’t even have the energy to do anything. Out of nowhere, Justin came out of the truck with a machete and he violently killed the python. That’s why I took him with me. He always seems to come through for me in the most random moments. However, next time I go on a road trip, I will first call up Solo Electronics and make sure that my Dodge PCM is completely up to date so that this never happens again!
