\"OLYMPUS We all know the popular cars we see on the road regularly, the Toyota Corollas and Ford Explorers and Honda Civics of every day life. Living in Miami, we can occasionally throw an Aston Martin or Rolls Royce in there, but for the most part there’s a trend to the vehicles people buy and use to get them around day in and day out. But what about the cars we don’t see? What about the cars engineers design\u00a0behind the scenes, when they\u00a0really\u00a0<\/em>want to let loose and showcase their skills? No worries, we’ve got you covered with a list of ten concept cars sitting on our radar. \"Lamborghini-Feruccio-13\"<\/a> Lamborghini Ferruccio<\/strong><\/p>\n

Coming off the celebration of their 50th anniversary, Lamborghini commissioned Staffordshire University transportation design student Mark Hostler to create this concept car as an homage to Lamborghini’s rich history as a luxury\/supercar production company. Some may actually see a Lamborghini when they look at this thing. We just see a real life Batmobile. \"Shayton-Equilibrium-wallpaper-side-angle\" Shayton Equilibrium<\/strong><\/p>\n

Derived from the Sioux Indian word for “Falcon” (hence Shayton’s company symbol) the equilibrium is the newest product to come out of Slovenia. With a V-12 engine and over 1,000 horsepower, the Shayton is actually available for ordering. If you’ve got $1.39 million to spare, that is. \"infiniti-q80-inspiration-03\" Infiniti Q80<\/strong><\/p>\n

Infiniti broke away from its typical design conventions to create this hybrid that boasts numerous technological capabilities, including a bunch of autonomous driving features. Add to that a 500 horsepower V-6 engine and 43 mpg, and Infiniti’s concept becomes a beautiful reality. \"prisim_car17\" Prismatic Car<\/strong><\/p>\n

To properly describe the Prismatic, we only have to turn to designer Janina Oberdorfer, who claims the car will “act like a visual perfume.” We don’t know exactly what that means, but we do get the car’s name; the refractive paint job takes light and does weird things with it, so you’re not just driving a car, you’re driving a visual display.<\/p>\n

\"bmwx_04\" BMW X MPower<\/strong><\/p>\n

BMW didn’t break the mold completely with their X Mpower concept–it used the same engine as the X6, with some tweaks to add power–but the custom two-seat roadster body is definitely something unique.<\/p>\n

\"2011-aerius-concept-front-angle-view\" Aerius<\/strong><\/p>\n

Another one of the electric vehicle concepts on our list, the Aerius carries front and rear-wheel electric motors. Adopting a Formula racing aerodynamic body style, this beauty keeps driver’s\u00a0moving quickly with minimal impact on the environment.<\/p>\n

\"Mercedes_Benz_Gran_Turismo_AMG_Concept_Forza_5_LA_Auto_Show_03\" Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo<\/strong><\/p>\n

One of the more interesting concepts, Benz’s AMG Vision was actually created as a concept car to be included in 2013’s Gran Turismo 6. Benz went ahead and made a full-scale concept of the video game car anyways though, modeling it after their SLS AMG. It also has a 577 horsepower V-8 engine, which we assume feels just as awesome in real life as it would with a controller and TV screen.<\/p>\n

\"Ferrari-Aliante2-\" Ferrari Aliante<\/strong><\/p>\n

Created as an entry for the 2011 Ferrari World Design Contest by\u00a0Istituto Europeo di Design transportation design students\u00a0Daniel Soriano, Arun Kumar, and Magnus Grettve, the Ferrari Aliante is characterized by it’s 2-seat aerodynamic\u00a0style. Wouldn’t expect anything less from Ferrari.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\"jaguar_xkx_01\" Jaguar XKX<\/strong><\/p>\n

A retro-inspired concept that gives a head nod to the 1960’s Jaguar E-types, the XKX focuses mostly on aerodynamics in its design, reducing air friction and adding speed.<\/p>\n

\"Porsche-929-1\" Porsche 929<\/strong><\/p>\n

Under design boss Michael Mauer, the new Porsche 929 is meant for speed. The\u00a0two-door design and large coupe body style is the first from Porsche since 1995, and puts the company in the market with the likes of the Aston Martin DB9 and Maserati GranTurismo.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
