A possible cause of these issues could simply be a faulty Power-train Control Module.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The PCM is considered the brains of the operation and when it\u2019s having complications, the rest of the vehicle will follow suit. \u00a0The PCM, and all of its sophistication, is responsible for regulating the engine\u2019s ignition, emission systems, and fuel injectors. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Needless to say, it plays a vital part in having a smooth running automobile and any strains could have a devastating effect on the overall car. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here are a few key signs that your PCM is defective and needs to be serviced:<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1. If any of the following codes appear during a diagnostics test ran on your vehicle, your PCM could very well be faulty and needs replacing &#8211;<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">P0600 &#8211; Serial Communication Link<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">P0601 &#8211; Internal Control Module Memory Check Sum Error<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">P0602 &#8211; Control Module Programming Error<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">P0603 &#8211; Internal Control Module Keep Alive Memory (KAM) Error<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">P0604 &#8211; Internal Control Module Random Access Memory (RAM) Error<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">P0605 &#8211; Internal Control Module Read Only Memory (ROM) Error<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">P0606 &#8211; ECM\/PCM Processor<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">P0607 &#8211; Control Module Performance<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">P0608 &#8211; Control Module VSS Output &#8216;A&#8217;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">P0609 &#8211; Control Module VSS Output &#8216;B&#8217;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">P0610 &#8211; Control Module Vehicle Options Error<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2.\u00a0 Your vehicle may not run or start.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">3. Your vehicle may stall while running.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">4.\u00a0 You may notice an inferior performance exerted from your engine.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">5. Water, for example, once entered in the PCM can cause irreparable corrosion that will ultimately ruin electric connections within the device. <\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Related Help<\/h3>\n<p>I cannot stress enough how crucial correctly identifying the right PCM for your vehicle is. Since there is such a large variation of PCMs, it can be very simple to mistake the wrong module thus incorrectly replacing your defective computer.<\/p>\n<p>You need the year, make, and model of your vehicle, the OEM part number and the PCM number as well to guarantee proper replacement.<\/p>\n<p>The most minute difference, whether a wiring error or calibration fault, can result in a car that isn\u2019t running to the level it should.
