Craziest Unsold Automobile Lots
If you can’t afford that Lexus LS, you should know that you’re not alone. Millions of unsold cars are clogging the lots of auto dealers because consumers simply don’t have the money to buy them, and as the years keep passing and new models keep coming out, sellers have to do something with all the old stock. The result is a collection of crazy automobile graveyards where unwanted cars go to die. Here are just a few of them for your daily dose of WTF.
Bristol, England
This picture was taken at Avonmouth Docks, a high-volume location for imports and exports out of England. Each tiny pixel represents a car. If we assume that they’re all worth $20,000 or more, that’s… a lot of college tuition just sitting there.
Valencia, Spain
This lot looks remarkably like a game of Connect Four, though you could also argue that it makes for a great round of Where’s Waldo. We spotted four yellow vehicles. What about you?
Maryland, USA
Paging all soccer moms! More than 57,000 cars have gasped their last breaths in Baltimore. We’re not saying that you should go and steal one, but you might be interested to know that they’re located off Broening Highway.
Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, England
Located on the British Nissan Test Track, this lot looks like nothing so much as a ’50s rumble about to take place between the Socs and the Greasers. Thousands of Nissans come in, but only one can leave.

We’re not sure where this image comes from, but it’s striking nonetheless. Not only are the colors as vivid as any Van Gogh, but squinting at the background also begs the question if all those blurry little figures are abandoned vehicles. Does the line stretch that far?

Another unknown, this one brings to mind an anthill, except each bug is actually an entire year’s salary for the middle class. The next time you’re pinching pennies to afford a hamburger, remember this picture.
Kent, England
Honestly, what’s with England and abandoned cars? Have they not gotten the memo that their vehicles aren’t selling? This one is from the Port of Sheerness, yet another massive and completely forgotten lot for automobiles that never stood a chance in the global economy.
Civitavecchia, Italy
These don’t even look like cars. They look like candy Chiclets left out in the sun for too long. This is getting ridiculous. Someone buy these cars.
